I installed 7 detectors about a month ago, all are smoke/co and went with the ones that have an option of installing fresh batteries when needed.
After more than 30 years in the smoke detector manufacturing business I know there are certain things that cannot be changed by buying one manufacturer over another. All residential detectors are required to be 85db, all are required to be of the same minimum sensitivity (both co and smoke), the magic is in achieving this without being overly sensitive. This has a lot to do with photo vs ion, how they detect and other technological advances, some of which are proprietary. (I always lean towards photoelectric technology for residential applications).
Great product overall but I have one complaint, bilingual detectors are not for every household. There should be a way to turn off one language or the other (or both), I would also add a Spanish version for US and South America.

The detectors arrived with no damage and just one day late due to a weather delay.
The detectors were easy to install and pairing was very straight forward. My only suggestion would be for the plate that mounts to the wall. There is a line with an arrow on it, which would suggest that it get mounted pointing up. When the detector is attached to the plate, the text on the detector is would then be on an angle. This is a small detail, but it could be easily corrected. Instead of moving the wall anchors, I opted to have them be tilted a bit. I'm sure this won't affect the operation.

Under what circumstances will the alarm give a false alarm?
Cooking fumes, steam, dust and insects may cause false alarms in smoke alarms; car exhaust or certain chemicals may cause false alarms in carbon monoxide alarms. Our products use intelligent algorithms to reduce false alarms, but it is still recommended to install them in a reasonable location to avoid interference.
What kind of smoke do your alarms detect?
Our smoke alarms use advanced photoelectric sensing technology to reliably detect smoke from both slow-burning and fast-burning fires, including smoke particles from burning common materials such as wood, paper, cloth, etc.
Where should the alarm be installed?
Smoke alarms should be installed on the ceiling, at least 30 cm away from walls or lamps; carbon monoxide alarms should be installed on the wall about 1.5 meters from the ground and 3-5 meters away from gas equipment. Avoid installing in areas prone to false alarms such as kitchens and bathrooms.
How often do alarms need to be tested?
We recommend testing the alarm function once a month, according to the user manual. At the same time, the dust on the alarm surface should be cleaned every month to ensure the sensitivity of the sensor.
How often do the alarm batteries need to be replaced?
Depending on the model, the ten-year life lithium battery does not need to be replaced, and the alarm will remind you when other batteries need to be replaced.
