I didn't until a year or two ago, and since we have been in our home for 30+ years... we had a few to change out.I love that this detector is a combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector. And I certainly appreciate the long battery life. Installation was quick and easy, and yes, the test beep is super loud. The voice is a bit weird, but it certainly gets your attention.I feel this was a great value for the price and am happy with the purchase.

Seems a reliable smoke alarm; can't go wrong with 10 year battery for convenience. Installation is pretty standard for this style of smoke detector. Price is very decent; would recommend multiples for every household.

Easiest smoke detectors I've ever installed, someone put a lot of thought into the magnetic mounting. Quick and easy to remove for cleaning, painting or decorating.

They were installed using included optional non hardware stick on discs. They tested active, and done. They are a good value for two alarms.

Nice and compact, easy to use the stick on the wall option, like the it has a 10 year battery I do not have to deal with.

Luckily I have not had occasion to test whether this works, but the test functions work and it was easy to install.

Easy to use and install.

I like the full size of the smoke detector so it can cover the spot where the old detector was located. The battery is sealed, and is supposed to last 10 years. After 10 years, I guess you have to replace the detector if the battery wears out. Or, if the battery wears out sooner. I read that some states now require smoke detectors to have sealed batteries.

I started upgrading all my smoke detectors to dual alarms for carbon monoxide.I like the fact that it was super easy to switch them out. The wiring was straightforward and the included 10 year battery means I don’t have to worry about this thing for a long time.I didn’t fully test it with carbon monoxide and I hope I never really have to but the smoke sensors tested well.You never know you need to until it’s too late.
