This detector looks nicer than average. It feels well made and was easy to install. Note that it rotates on to the base like most of them but it only fits in a specific sequence so you may get frustrated if you didn't initially line it up properly. The test feature works properly and it is plenty loud to wake up most people if needed.

Works As Expected

Works great! No complaints so far. Easy to install and seems to work as intended. It hasn't gone off yet so we just assume all is well lol

Great safety equipment for the home

We had a smoke detector fail a few years ago that we replaced with another one that lived an even shorter life than the original. The next replacement lasted a couple of weeks before it started beeping incessantly and had to be removed. They are the kind of detectors that plug into our home's power with a 9-volt battery backup. For a while, we just had an empty spot in the ceiling until finding this smoke and carbon monoxide detector combo.

To install this, I removed the old mounting plate for the last smoke detector and replaced with the one that came with this unit. Then pop on the detector and it's all set. The battery life purportedly lasts 10 years, so I did not need to connect it to the home's power at all.

I ran tests by pushing the center button. In addition to the loud alarm, it also speaks the warning in English and French. I'm not sure why French, but maybe this had been marketed for use in Canada at some point.

There haven't been any false alarms since installation nearly two months ago. Adding carbon monoxide detection is an upgrade over our last smoke detector. Very happy with this safety device.

So Far, So Good

We got this unit to replace a detector that was very sensitive to cooking. This one was super easy to install since it's not hard wired and so far hasn't had any false alarms. The battery is supposed to last for 10 years so I can't report on battery life yet, but so far it seems fine.

The actual appearance of this detector looks nicer than the standard units as well.
