Installing plate is easy but 3 prongs need to be exactly right to sit unit into plate.i took a sharpie pen and marked 1, 2, 3 on plate and prongs so that helped know which prongs went into each slot on plate. I suggest manufacturer should do this or color code each slot and prongs. Units are up and working fine. We will see if the battery actually lasts 10 years?

Very difficult to understand how to get it put together. Not able to use. The first one got broken and unusable, the second one is sitting in the box untouched. Need better instructions.

Seems a reliable smoke alarm; can't go wrong with 10 year battery for convenience. Installation is pretty standard for this style of smoke detector. Price is very decent; would recommend multiples for every household.

Quality smoke detector. Although my home is wired, I wanted one in my garage. Easy to install and works great.
